Shortly after, Greer and Bowery began an artistic collaboration which lasted six productive years, until Bowery’s untimely death in 1994. Bowery visited Greer’s studio when he had a new look to be photographed. The resulting images are a lasting monument to Bowery’s creations. ‘Leigh used to rip up and re-make his costumes,’ Greer explains, ‘so photography was really key to preserving his looks.’ \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eLeigh Bowery, Session II, Look 10, 1989\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, is one such photograph, taken on a large format camera and part of an extraordinary body of work that was the outcome of their collaboration. ‘Leigh’s legacy, in part, lies in our collaboration, and in the record we produced together of his art.
